Spicy Greens Deep Dish Pizza

Sunday night we had a deep dish stuffed with sausage, peppers, mozzarella and topped with marinara but here is the recipe process. Spicy greens, sausage, or whatever floats your boat- deep dish is yummy!

Happy New Year!  There are certain foods that are supposed be eaten on New Year’s Eve to promote a plethora of things- travel, health, wealth, etc.  Greens are supposed to bring prosperity for the coming year when eaten during a New Year Celebration.  We had them on New Year’s Eve and then again on New Year’s Day, so here’s to hoping that the tale is true!  Deep Dish Pizza with Spicy Utica Greens was part of our New Year’s Day pizza feast!

Prep– 45 minutes
2 heads escarole, chopped into strips and cleaned
4oz diced pancetta
1 large onion, sliced
2-3 cherry peppers (fresh or pickled works), diced
6-7 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2C bread crumbs
1/4C pecorino romano cheese
